Main Description: This musket has the I broad arrow D indicating Indian Department of the British Army these Muskets were supplied to his Majesty's Indian Allies during the war of 1812 or shortly after, similar to the North West Trade Guns. Bead front sight, no rear sight, 1/3rd octagon 2/3rd round barrel, top flat marked with round proof mark and London, side lock with Manufacturers mark Wheeler & Son, Crown proof mark, smooth hammer does not hold cock, nipple damaged. One piece smooth full military wood stock, forend tip is chipped and broken, cracked along ramrod channel, large chip on right side, straight grip with brass relief medallion, stock cracked and chipped behind barrel and around lock, smooth brass butt plate with manufactures logo, both sides of stock have I Broad arrow D indicating British Indian Department Issue, engraved brass trigger guard missing ramrod.

Wear: Metal finish turning brown with light pitting, rust speckles, handling marks and wear. Stock shows marks, scratches and wear.
