Singer, rightfully proud of its company history, celebrated its centenary in 1951 by giving all machines commissioned for that year a special commemorative badge. It was the standard Singer emblem of the time but with the inscription "A Century of Sewing Service 1851-1951" around the outside of the oval. These "limited edition" models were commissioned for only one year. This machine bears one of those emblems. The Walnut veneer case has many surface scrapes but no serious gouges or dents. The keyed cathedral shaped case has original key and locks. The machine itself is in very good condition aesthetically for its age There is some minor oxidation on the body of the machine. The motor runs, but the sewing head does not operate so may need to be looked at by an expert. The cord is very dirty or maybe even moldy. There is a box of accessories included tucked into the base of the machine.
