Robert Bateman's "Window into Ontario", circa 1977, original acrylic on masonite painting, signed and dated lower right. A magnificent and monumental painting, measuring an astounding 4' x 8'. One of Bateman's largest pieces, with an incredible provenance; The Ontario Board of Trade, who commissioned the piece. One of only several significantly important paintings to be mentioned in Bateman's resume, and to the best of our knowledge, the largest one to ever be offered publicly at auction. As original Bateman paintings are quite uncommon to become available, this is an incredible opportunity to own one of his most famous paintings. Notable works hang in Buckingham Palace ("Northern Reflections - Loon Family" was given to Prince Charles as a wedding gift), as well as owned by the Prince of Monaco. This painting has been certified genuine and authentic, and has been appraised at $875,000 CAD.
To be paid only by bank transfer/wire transfer.
