Rare Medal! 1924 Germany LZ126 Airship Medal in .990 Silver Commemorating Germany's Payment to the USA for WWI Debts. When the airship was received by the United States, it was renamed to USS Los Angeles (ZR-III designation number). It was one of the largest airships of the time with a crew of 40 men and was the longest serving US Navy airship on record from 1924-1939. Features portrait of first Captain-Pilot Hugo Eckener on obverse. Not many versions of this medal were made in .990 silver! 33mm diameter and weighs 14.7g. (TAX Exempt)
