Main Description: Manufactured by Enfield 1881, converted by HRB Co 1892 to a Martini Metford .303. One of a handful known carbines sold to Canada by the British. Birmingham WD Roundel on right side of stock with double broad arrows indicating sold from stores. Left side of stock has the M&D/15 indicating Canadian Militia and defence issue. Possibly the 15th carbine of 200 issued to the Royal Canadian Dragoons. Reference Defending the Dominion Book Chapter 6 Page 87 to Page 96 and also Page 149. Blade front sight with ramp, adjustable 1400 yrd u notched ladder rear sight, blued finish, front of receiver marked S.X, checkered thumb pad on right rear, small safety indicator, short lever. Two piece smooth full military wood stocks, rear sight protector, screws have been modified, straight grip, right side of stock has blank brass stock disk, small crack behind receiver, smooth steel butt plate, sling swivels with US mills canvas strap, clearing rod removed which is correct for this Canadian issue carbine.

Wear: Metal finish shows a few light rust speckles, scratches, handling marks and wear. Stocks show some marks, scratches and wear.
