Medal: 1893 Columbian Exposition official award medal in original tin display case. Prisitine uncirculated condition (Bronze, 76.3mm). A beautiful medal from the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition commemorating Christopher Columbus' 400th Anniversary 1492-1892. The medal was made by Saint Gaudens in Chicago, Illinois. The medal features an image of Columbus stepping ashore with legend on banner to right shoulder on the obverse and on the reverse is a central panel with text and recipient’s name "Annie P. Hauchman" and above a globe and two angels, and below the ship "Santa Maria", and on each side, two burning torches. Medal comes in original decorated tin with blue velvet lining.
